Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of high dose ambroxol on patient with acute respiratory failure after surgery. Methods Forty cases patients with postoperative acute respiratory failurewere were divided randomly into experimental group and control group, each of 20 cases. On the base of treatment, experimental group were given ambroxol 10mg/kg per day by continuous intravenous micro pump injection, control group were given saline every day.Compared before treatment and after treatment 2,5,7d of arterial blood gas and ICU treatment time of 2 groups. Results After treatment PaO2 and PaO2/FiO2 levels of 2 groups were increased(P0.05),and after treatment 2,5,7d the level of PaO2 and PaO2/FiO2 of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group(P0.05).ICU length of stay time of experimental group[(8.2±5.8)d] was significantly shorter than that of control group[(10.4±6.6)d],the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion High dose of ambroxol can improve blood gas exchange and decrease the length of ICU stay in the patient with postoperative acute respiratory failure.
