The relationship between expression of survivin and its biological characteristic,pognosis in non-small cell lung cancer

Objective To evaluate the relationship between expression of survivin and its biological characteristic,pognosis in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The expression of survivin in 70 patients with NSCLC and in 30 patients with the lung tissue of non-carcinoma was examined by immunohistochemical methods.The expression of survivin was compared with biological characteristics and prognosis of NSCLC.Results The positive expression rate of survivin was 74.3%,and there was no expression of survivin in adjacent normal lung tissues.There were no correlation between survivin and age,sex,differentiation and histological classification(P0.05).There was correlation between survivin and clinical stage(P=0.008).And the survival time of NSCLC person in the positive expression of aurvivin was shorter than the negative expression(P=0.000).The COX regression showed that survivin expression was related with prognosis of NSCLC(P=0.001).Conclusion There is close relationship between survivin and NSCLC,the over-expression of surviving suggests the bad prognosis in NSCLC,Survivin gene may be identified as a defining diagnostic marker and a potential therapeutic target in NSCLC.
