Efficacy analysis of shape memory alloy patella in the treatment of patellar fracture

Objective To explore the effect of shape memory alloy patella in the treatment of patellar fracture.Methods Sixty-two patients with patellar fracture treated with shape memory alloy patella from January 2008 to April 2009 were selected as treatment group.Another 62 patients with patellar fracture treated with wire cerclage fixation during the same period were selected as control group.The treatment efficacies of the two groups were compared.Results Excellent rate of the treatment group was 95.2%,better than that of the control group(85.5%).The difference between the two groups was significant(P0.05).Conclusion The shape memory alloy patella in the treatment of patellar fracture has proved effect.It can lead to early knee joint training and knee function recovery.It is an effective clinical treatment method for patellar fracture.
