Abstract
Objective To investigate the treatment principle of patellar fracture of patellar talon in characteristic biomechanics of patellar and its fracture. Methods 24 cases patellar fracture, among them,15 left and 9 right, 18 traverse fracture, 1 upper pole fracture and 3 lower pole fracture, were had treated with patellar talon in 48 hours, dirigation after three days. Results The follow-up period were 5 months to 30 months with average of 14 months. The knees angle of flexing had reached more than 90° for 23 cases after 14 days. All patients were evaluated with the criteria of LU Yupu's standard. The recovery of knee joint function was excellent in 20 cases, good in 3, fair in 1. Excellent and good results were reached in 95.8% of the patients. Conclusion The treatment of patellar fracture with patellar talon conforms to biomechanics regulation. It has the advantage of simple manipulation, rigid fixation, and effective satisfaction.
