Abstract
Objective:To observe the therapeutic efficacy of fistula root filling in the treatment of fistula chronic periapical periodontitis. Methods:The teeth were treated through disposable root canal preparation, ultrasonic irrigation, and fistula passage therapy with tinidazole which were performed.Patients whose fistula did not heal in the first checkup were given fistula root filling with vitapex paste and hot adhesive dentistry and were then rechecked 2 to 3 weeks,3 months,6 months, and one year after treatment. The therapeutic efficacy was assessed with clinical and X-ray examination.Results:49 out of the 53 tooth were successfully treated, and treatment failed in the rest 4 cases, with the success rate of 92.45%.Conclusion:Fistula root filling after thorough root canal and fistula clean-up can shorten treatment period and at same time achieve satisfactory treatment results.
