On Tang Geng's Poetry

Tang Geng,who enjoyed reputation of the Second Su Dongpo in Song Dynasty,valued social and political functions of poetry,which was unique in Parnassus after period of Shaosheng.He gained people's admiration for his poems produced during his exile,which showed no pathos.Instead,he expressed in his poems his unique reflections on life experience of worse environment.As for art of poetry,his independent pursuit differed a lot from Jiangxi poetry school.He learned from Du Fu's style and acquired soul of Du Fu's poetry,which served as a guide for Chen Yuyi and Lu You's poetry production.
