Abstract

Li Jianxun was a prominent politician who served as the prime minister of the Southern Tang Dynasty, and his life and poetry creation experienced three historical stages, including late Tang, Yang Wu and the Southern Tang Dynasty. During this period, the southern region became the most richest area in China. The loose political environment and prosperous economy made it possible that the wealthy elite groups could cultivate an elegant and otherworldly personality and allowed the Southern Tang to have access to the unique value of the gradual transformation from poems of Tang style to poems of Song style. Li Jianxun's pursuit of noble personality was typical at that time. His poems, which were not only the successor of Tang Poems but also the predecessor of Song Poetry, were in truth a typical example of artistic transformation from Tang Poetry to Song Poetry.
