Abstract

Objective To comprehend the comfort status and its influencing factors of maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods From January to July 2010,95 maintenance hemodialysis patients in the hospital were selected by convenience sampling to undergo an evaluation on their comfort status with comfort scale of maintenance hemodialysis patients. The influencing factors were analyzed accordingly. Results The overall comfort status of the maintenance hemodialysis patients was on moderate level. The comfort status of physical domain was in the worst condition, which was followed by those of psychological and social areas. However, the comfort status of the environment was in relatively good condition.Age,family economic level, frequency of dialysis, hemodialysis age and serum creatinine levels can affect the comfort of status in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Conclusion Clinical nurses should improve the physical discomfort in the nursing process of maintenance hemodialysis patients, focuse on the psychological care, strengthen social support and attach more attention upon the younger patients and patients with poor family economic status, less frequent dialysis, shorter time on dialysis and poor renal function.
