Abstract
Objective To investigate the treatment effects of Edgewise and Twin-block appliances in skeletal class Ⅱ division 1 malocclusion on mandibule. Methods Thirty patients with skeletal class Ⅱ division 1 malocclusion, whose age from 11 to 14 years old were divided into two groups. One group was treated with standard Edgewise appliance (E group),the other was treated with Twin-block functional appliance (T group). The cephalometric data before and after treatment was analysed statistically. Results Conclusion Edgewise appliance with class Ⅱ elastic corrected the distal occlusion, the relation of skeletal was not improved.Functional treatment could promote mandibular growth obviously and increase mandibular length in sagittal direction.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
