Effect of bagging in different periods on fruit quality of Eli No.2 pear cultivar

Eli No.2 pear cultivar was used as material for studying the effect of bagging on 20,30,40,50 and 60 d after flowering on the fruit quality.The results showed that the thickness and brightness of the fruit skin,SSC/TA and SS/TA were increased and accompanied with less fruit dots per area unit when bagging was done earlier.The average fruit mass,the firm-ness and the content of SSC,SS and TA were decreased,and the fruit would be tasteless.The content of Vitamin C was not changed significantly when bagging was done earlier.It is believed that the most appropriate period for bagging for Eli No.2 pear cultivar was on 30 d to 40 d after flowering.
