Abstract
Objective To observe the influence of Atorvastatin on serum matrix matalloproteiases-9(MMP-9)level in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods 30 healthy people were the control group and 60 ACS patients were the Atorvastatin treatment group. The serum levels of MMP-9 before and after treatment were detected. Results The patients of the Atorrastatin treatment group had higher levels of MMP-9 compared with those of the control group(P0.001).After 2 weeks of Atorvastatin treatment, the levels of serum MMP-9 in the Atorvastatin treatment group were significantly decreased(P0.001).Conclusion Atorvastatin decreases serum level of inflammatory factors in the patients with ACS,so it maybe benefit to atherosclerotic plaque stabilization.
