Abstract

Objective:To study the effect of early postoperative enteral nutrition on patients with esophageal cancer. Methods:Early postopertive enteral nutrition of 278 patients from May 2004 to July 2008 in our hospital were clinically observed. Results:No death or serious complication occurred in all the patients. During the period of the study, the hepatorenal functions were not obviously damaged. Conclusion:Early postoperative enteral nutrition for esophageal cancer not only improves nutritional status and recovers gastrointestinal function, but also ameliorates immunocyte function, reduces the complication and improves the success rate of the operations.
