Spatio-temporal Pattern and Resulted Factors of Energy Consumption of Hubei Province during 2001-2009

Total energy consumption,energy consumption per capita,energy consumption structure and the efficiency of energy consumption of Hubei Province changed greatly during 2001-2009.Total energy consumption and energy consumption per capita kept growing,energy consumption structure tend to be optimized and the efficiency of energy consumption improved significantly.Total energy consumption and its annual growth rate had noteworthy spatial differentiation.Besides,it was conspicuous that energy consumption per capita and the efficiency of energy consumption of all regions of which the spatial differentiation wss still distinct.The spatial patterns of energy consumption per capita and the efficiency of energy consumption had comparatively great change,while the spatial differentiation of those was also distinct: energy consumption per capita of the northwest,southwest and northeast areas of Hubei Province was obviously lower than vast middle areas,and the energy consumption efficiency of southwest areas and major cities among Wuhan urban cycle was obviously higher than other areas of Hubei Province.It was indicated that economic growth,industrial structure,urbanization,consumption structure and population growth were main influence factors for the change and spatial differentiation of total energy consumption,energy consumption per capita,energy consumption structure and the efficiency of energy consumption of Hubei Province.
