Abstract
The current situation of final energy consumption in Hubei province shows great energy demand while the energy structure is still not very reasonable.A linear analysis is made on the correlation between energy consumption and economic growth based on the data of Hubei province and China from 2003 to 2012.The strong positive correlation between energy consumption and economic growth is confirmed.Short-term forecast of final energy consumption is made based on the prediction of economic growth in Hubei province.Comparing with the development process of the whole country,it can be predicted that optimizing energy structure and promoting power application will be inevitable in Hubei province.
