Abstract
A method for the determination of dissociated gallic acid and total gallic acid in Sedum aizoon L.was described.High preformance liquid chromatography was used. The determination was performed on a hypersil C18 column by UV detector at 273 nm with methanol-0.05% Phosphoric acid(15∶85) as the mobile phase. There was a linear correlation between the concentration of gallic acid(5.76~172.8 μg/mL) and the peak area value(r=0.9994).The average recovery was respectively 99.5% and 97.9% for dissociated gallic acid and total gallic acid.7 samples from different producing areas were determined. This method is convenient, accurate and can be used to identify and evaluate the quality of Sedum aizoon L..
