Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship of expression of PTEN gene with the metastasis of cervical cancer. Methods The expression of PTEN gene in the tumor specimens was detected in 72 patients underwent cervical cancer resection(group A) and 46 patients underwent benign cervical tumor resection(group B).The relationship of expression of PTEN gene with metastasis of cervical cancer was analyzed. Results The detection rate was lower in group A than that in group B(27.8% vs.95.6%)(P0.01),which was lower in 27 patients with metastasis of cervical cancer than that in 45 patients without(25.9% vs.62.2%)(P0.01).Conclusion The metastasis of cervical cancer may be ralated to the suppression of PTEN gene expression in cancer tissues.
