Abstract
Objective:To study the expression and its clinical significance of PTEN in the pathogensis of endometrial carcinoma.Methods:A specific and sensitive immunohistochemical S-P assay was used to detect the expression of PTEN in paraffin-embedded sections of 20 cases of normal endometrium,endometrial hyperplasia and atypical hyperplasia of endometrial,50 the tissue near the endometrial carcinoma and endometrial carcinoma.Results:The loss expression rates of PTEN in normal proliferative endometrium,endometrial hyperplasia,atypical hyperplasia of endometrial,the tissue near the endometrial carcinoma,and endometrial carcinoma were gradually increased.The difference was significant.In endometrial carcinoma the loss of PTEN expression was significantly related to the tissue type(P0.05)and the cell grade(P0.05),but not related to the depth of myometrium invasion and the clinical stage(P0.05).Conclusion:The loss of PTEN may be used as a diagnostic biomarker for the earliest endometrial carcinoma,PTEN may play some roles in the carcinogenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma.
