Abstract

Objective:To study the expression and its clinical significance of PTEN and P53 in the pathogensis of endometrial carcinoma.Methods:A specific and sensitive immunohistochemical assay was used to detect the expression of PTEN and P53 in paraffin-embedded sections of 20 cases of normal endometrium,endometrial hyperplasia and atypical hyperplasia of endometrial,50 the tissue near the endometrial carcinoma and endometrial carcinoma.Results:The loss expression rates of PTEN in normal proliferative endometrium,endometrial hyperplasia,atypical hyperplasia of endometrial,the tissue near the endometrial carcinoma,and endometrial carcinoma were gradually increased.In endometrial carcinoma the loss of PTEN expression was significantly related to the cell grade,ER,PR(P0.05).The positive rates of the aberrant expressions of P53 was 44%,and the difference was significant.The positive of the aberrant expressions of P53 was significationtly related to the cell grade,the clinicial stage(P0.05).Conclusion:PTEN and P53 may play some roles in the carcinogenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma.Estrogen-progesterone may control the expression of PTEN.
