The Effect of Irbesartan on Left Ventricular Reconstruction in the Patients with Mild-moderate Essential Hypertension

Objective To observe the effects of irbesartan on the left ventricular reconstruction in the patients with mild-moderate essential hypertension.Methods An auto-control open trial was used in the study.36 patients with mild-moderate essential hypertension were treated with oral irbesartan 150mg,300mg/d,until 8 weeks,the blood pressure,echocardiogramphy and drug safety were observed.Results After 8 weeks treatment,the blood pressure was decreased(P0.05),the left ventricular mass index was decreased,no significant bad reactions.Conclusion Irbesartan is an effective and safe drug in the treatment of hypertension,it can preserve the heart function.
