Abstract
Objective: To understand the effects of activation of platelet,formation of thrombus on restenosis after vascular balloon injury in the rats.Methods: 35 rats were randomly divided into two groups:①control group(group C, n =7),the left common carotid artery only were ligated;②operation group(group O, n =28),the thoracic artery were damaged.The blood samples of animals of each group were collected at different times(6 hours,48 hours,1 weeks,2 weeks after operation)to measure the contents of GMP 140 and D dimer.Animals were sacrificed 2 weeks after operation and thoracic aorta were arranged for pathological observation.Results: ①The contents of GMP 140 and D dimer increased evidently in group O compared with those of group C ( P 0 001);②Histoogical observation:Vascular luminal surface of group C was smooth,no neointima existing.But in group O,evident neointima were observed and lots of proliferative cells were seen in media and intima,internal elastic lamina were injured as well.Conclusion: The low generation of nitric oxide,prompt activation of platelet and formation of thrombus are caused by vascular injury,which switch on the progression of RS after PTCA.The VSMC proliferation and intima hyperplasia after vascular injury participate in the formation of RS.
