Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of gram-positive cocci isolated from the submitted specimens obtained from hospitalized patients during 2009-2011so as to provide guidance for reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS Bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing of gram-positive cocci were carried out with MicroScan AutoScan-40system and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) were also detected. The data were analyzed by WHONET 5software.RESULTS From 2009to 2011,the detection rate of MRSA fluctuated between 34.2%and 35.34%,and the high detection rates of MRCNS from 2009to 2011 were 81.1%,83.9%,and 84.6%,respectively.The detection rate of Enterococcus faecalis in 2010was less than that in the other two years. However, there was an increasing trend in the isolation rate of E.faeciumin the three years. The drug resistance rates of MRSA to vancomycin,quinupristin-dalfoprisdn,and furandantin were low,and the drug resistance rate to rifampin was increased year by year. The resistance rates of MRSCNS to vancomycin,quinupristin-dalfoprisdn,and furandantin were very low,but the drug resistance rates of MRCNS to the commonly used antibiotics were significantly higher than those of MSCNS.E.faecalis was susceptible to penicillin,ampicillin,amocillin-clavulanate,piperacillin-tazobactam,vancomycin,and furandantin, while E.faecium was resistant to penicillin and ampicillin but was susceptible to other antibiotics.CONCLUSION The clinicians should monitor the distribution and drug resistance of gram-positive cocci and reasonably use antibiotics based on the result of monitoring.
