Abstract

Field experiment was conducted to study the effect of Se on anti-oxidation of peanut by spraying different concentrations of sodium selenite on peanut leaf. The results showed that within the range of 10~60mg/L selenium, chlorophyll content and POD activity increased with the rise of selenium concentration;whereas MDA content decreased. When the selenium concentration was 90 mg/L,the dropping tendency in chlorophyll content and POD activity was observed, while the change of MDA content was opposite.Within the range of 10~90mg/L selenium, the activity of CAT and SOD firstly decreased, and then increased at higher concentration of selenium, but they were both lower than the control.Proper concentration of selenium could increase the antioxidant ability of peanut.
