Abstract

To determine the impact of selenium on physiology of Cardamine sp.roots,a selenium-rich plant in Enshi, the selenium content in Cardamine sp.Roots and its antioxidantion were investigated when concentration of Na2SeO3 in complete nutrient solution were 0,15,30,45,60,75 or 90 mg/L,respectively.The results showed that selenium content in roots can be significantly increased by application of selenium, which reached maximum value 726.78 μg/g when selenium dosage was 60 mg/L.The enzymatic activity of GSH-Px,CAT and POD can be enhanced when selenium concentration in nutrient solution was 30~90 mg/L,in which the highest activity showed at 60-75 mg/L.In comparison with control, the enzymatic activity of SOD had a significant increase when selenium concentration was 75 mg/L.When selenium concentration was 15~90 mg/L,the MDA production in roots decreased, and there was a significant difference between it and control. Therefore, when Cardamine sp.is cultured in the complete nutrient solution, the antioxidant enzyme activity and ability of anti-lipid peroxidation of roots can be improved when selenium concentration was 30~75 mg/L.
