The value of the serum progesterone and β-HCG in the early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy

Abstract

Objective To explore and analyze the value of the serum progesterone and β-HCG in the early diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.Methods Serum progesterone and β-HCG were assayed of 32 patients who were suspected to be ectopic pregnancy and 20 patients who were intrauterine gestation.Results The β-HCG value of both intrauterine gestation group and ectopic pregnancy group were step up,and the former was a little higher,but two sets were no statistics difference(P0.05);the progesterone value of intrauterine gestation group was obviously higher than that of ectopic pregnancy group,and there was statistics difference between the two sets.Conclusion Combined determination of the serum progesterone and β-HCG can be considered as an early diagnostic method of ectopic pregnancy.
