Abstract
Objective:To investigate incidence of anxiety and depression in the patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods:70 hospital patients with chronic hepatitis B were randomly selected from the hospital patients with chronic hepatitis B from 2006.1 to 2006.12 in our hospital and served as study group, and 70 healthy persons with similar demographic characteristics were served as the control group. The Beck's Depression Inventory and Anxiety Inventory were used for the assessment of the incidence of depression and anxiety. The assessment outcomes of two groups were compared each other and the influential factors of the depression were analyzed. Results:The difference of incidence of depression was significant between the two groups and the study group had a higher incidence of depression than that of the control group(P0.05).But there was no obvious difference of incidence of anxiety between the two groups(P0.05).Influential factors of the depression included pathogenetic condition, sexuality, age, education degree and course of disease. Conclusion:Compared with the healthy people, the patients with chronic hepatitis B have a higher incidence of depression, but the incidence of anxiety does not increase. So it is essential for doctors to pay more attention to the psychological changes of these patients and these patients need more psychological support from society and families.
