Research into the Mental Health Status and Its Influencing Factors of Fresh men of Science and Engingeering

We carried out a psychological survey for 7491 freshmen of 2013 grade in a certain university of Henan province by using symptom checklist SCL- 90,analyzing the main factors affecting the mental health for freshmen in colleges of science and engineering. The research results indicated:( 1) most freshmen had positive psychological quality,while at the same time,about 9. 68% of freshmen existed psychological problems in different degrees;( 2) the psychological problems mainly existed in aspects including obsession,interpersonal sensitivity,as well as depression and anxiety;( 3) factors such as sexuality,foster care experience and so on had obvious influence on mental health of freshmen;( 4) single child or not and family sources made little difference to the mental health for freshmen.
