Abstract

The article traces the development of the biography in the early Qin and Han Dynasties. The content of the biography changed from the everyday events to the complicated description of persons. The types of characters shifted from those in the upper class to those in the lower class. And the author's attitude came to be apparent rather than implied and his style changed from simple to flowery and manifold.
