Abstract
An effective spatial database structure is one of the key issues in developing an information system application based on spatial database management with integrated architecture. It determines the ways of implementing system functions and the efficiency of entire application system. This paper studied spatial database normalization design using a procedure of six steps, including: to model the data in user's view,to define the objects and their relationships,to select geographic representations,to match with Geodatabase elements to organize Geodatabase structure, and to make a storage schema for the spatial database. The obtained spatial database approaches closely to its logical data model. The analysis on the results shows that this design optimizes the implementation of the functions in urban traffic accident information system applications.
