Abstract

Spatial database building is fundamental to the wide use of GIS. GeoDataBase used in ArcGIS allows its users add behaviors, attributes and relationships to their data by applying object-oriented data model, and hence it can not only appropriately describe huge amount of complicated spatial database, but also can provide seamless integration between spatial data and attribute data. This paper introduces the designing and implementation process of GeoDataBase-based spatial database. It then discusses some technical problems involved in the process.
