Three Stages of the Research on Modern Chinese Literature in Europe and America

The history of the research on Modern Chinese Literature in Europe and America can be separated into three stages: preceding discipline period,discipline period and cross-discipline period.In the first period,Modern Chinese Literature research is subordinate to Sinology,gradually developing into an independent discipline.Because the beginning of Modern Chinese Literature is 1917,the preceding discipline period is from 1917 to the late 50's of the 20th century.Discipline period is a period when Modern Chinese Literature research has developed into an independent discipline.It is from the early 60's of the 20th century to the late 80's of the 20th century.Cross-discipline period is a period that the research on Modern Chinese Literature is no longer limited in its own discipline,it combines philosophy,art,science and other disciplines with its own discipline.This period is from the early 90's of the 20th century to the present.
