On Narrative Theory of Chinese Drama in Xian Qing Ou Ji

Abstract

Li Yu in Xian Qing Ou Ji not only summarizes former drama theory,but also proposes his new point of view——narratology.Taking drama structure into account is actually taking narration as centre.Li Yu proposes that the centre of narrative art is how the whole story develops around a key action.Li Yu's theory is still worth paying attention to today in the research of narrative art.
