The Narrative Structure of Ji Ming Feng Yu

Abstract
This paper analyzes the narrative structure of Ji Ming Feng Yu by Liu Si_fen in the following aspects: first, the beginning and the end of narration are full of distinct atmosphere of the particular age; secondly, the entirety of specific characters and events are neglected to the extent of looseness with regard to characters and events in the novel; thirdly, a certain appeal resulting from the atmosphere characterized by the start and the end as well as by the mental feeling of characters constitutes the core of the narrative structure. It is also pointed out that this narrative structure, which directly inherits the traditional narrative method in classical Chinese novels, is a restoration and development of traditional Chinese narration.
