Expression of p57~(KIP2),and PCNA in squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix

Objective To discuss the effects of p57KIP2,PCNA on the genesis and progression of carcinoma of the uterine cervix.Methods The expression of p57KIP2,PCNA proteins in 100 cases of squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) of the uterine cervix,60 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),and 30 cases of normal cervical squamous epithelium(NE) was detected respectively by immunohistochemical S-P methods.Results In 100 cases of SCC of the uterine cervix,60 cases of CIN,and 30 cases of NE,the positive expression rate of p57KIP2 were 51.00%,56.67%,63.33% respectively,the positive expression rate of PCNA were 85.00%?60.00%?26.67%.The expression of PCNA between SCC of the uterine cervix and CIN,SCC and NE,CIN and NE had significant difference(P0.01),but the expression of p57KIP2 between SCC and CIN,SCC and NE,CIN and NE had no statistic difference(P0.05).Conclusions p57KIP2,PCNA proteins may be useful in the development and progression of carcinoma of the uterine cervix.The abnormal expression of PCNA was early event of cervical carcinoma.
