Investigation on HIV Infection among Voluntary Blood Donors in Jiangmen Area in the Past 10 Years

[Objective]To learn the status of HIV infection among voluntary blood donors in Jiangmen area,so as to carry out the effective preventive measures in the processs of blood collection and supply to reduce the risk of blood transfusion.[Methods]With retrospective investigation methods,the data of voluntary blood donors from 2001 to 2010 were collected,and blood donors who were diagnosed with HIV infection were analyzed.[Results]In the past 10 years,61 blood donors were diagnosed with HIV infection,and the infection rate was 0.017%.There was no significant difference in infection rate between different sex and ages,and the difference among different blood sampling sites was significant.The HIV infected patients were involved with multiple populations.[Conclusion]The HIV infection rate of voluntary blood donors in Jiangmen area was gradually decreased in recent years.According the characteristics of HIV infection among voluntary blood donors in Jiangmen area,the publicity of blood donation,screening of blood donors and blood test should be strengthened to ensure the safety of blood transfusion.
