Abstract
Objective:To understand the HIV infection of voluntary blood donors in Chengdu for preventing AIDS transmission by pathway of transfusion blood. Methods:Serum samples from blood donor were screened by different anti-HIV ELISA kits and verified by EITB.Results:21 out of 103 770 blood donors were infected by HIV(6.9×10~(-5)).The HIV infection rates of 2001 and 2004 had significant difference(1.7×10~(-5),11.5×10~(-5),χ~2=4.42,P0.050).Conclusion:The HIV infection rates of voluntary blood donors show increase trend and it's necessary to intensify HIV strict testing of voluntary blood donors.
