Abstract

In order to investigate the effects of salicylic acid(SA) on the germination of cotton seeds under different temperatures and salt concentrations,we took insect-resistant cotton hybrid seeds as the experimental materials. The results showed that 0.2 mmol/L SA could significantly increase the quantity and quality of cotton seed germination;at the same temperature, the quantity and quality of cotton seed germination in the treatment with SA were higher than those in the treatment without SA.Otherwise, under the same salt concentration, the quantity and quality of cotton seed germination in the treatment with SA were higher than those in the treatment without SA.These results indicated that SA could significantly increase the quantity and quality of cotton seed germination under the conditions of low temperature and salt stress.
