Abstract
The effects of seed-soaking with different concentrations of salicylic acid(SA) on the seed germination of insect-resistant cotton were studied. The results showed that low concentration of SA(0~0.2 mmol/L) could significantly increase the germination rate and germination potential of cotton seeds, and high concentration of SA(1.0 mmol/L) significantly suppressed the germination of cotton seeds.Under the same concentration of SA,the seed germination rate in the treatment whose seed-soaking time was 24 h was higher than that in the treatment whose seed-soaking time was 48 h.This experiment indicated that soaking the seeds of insect-resistant cotton with 0.2 mmol/L SA for 24 h was the best for the seed germination.
