Abstract

The Taohua Pb-Zn polymetallic deposit is located in the connection part of the Sanjiang geosynclinal fold system and Yangtze Platform which experienced polycyclic tectonic movement and complex evolution and has favorable ore-forming structural geological settings and conditions.Based on the analysis of the regional geological settings and detailed mining area geological survey, the mining area geological characteristics are described and the geological features of the ore deposit are studied, including the lithology, ore potentiality, mineralization, ore body characteristics, ore characteristics, and wall rock alteration. The ore control factors are discussed covering tectonic environment, ore controls, structures, magmatic rocks, and ore-forming material source. Finally, metallogenic model and ore genesis of the deposit are suggested, moreover, the prospecting criteria, prospecting direction, and metallogenic prognosis for the region are also discussed in the paper.
