Effect of Beta-block in adult patients with essential hypertension

Abstract
Purpose: To Emphasize the efficacy of Beta-blocker on reducing essential hypertension,high diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of the adult patients in particular.Methods:40 adult patients with class Ⅲ essential hypertension take 2 kinds of drugs to reduce their blood pressure but the blood pressure control is still not ideal,diastolic blood pressure(DBP) in particular.Adding Metoprolol 12.5mg～25mg twice daily or Bisoprolol 2.5mg～5mg once daily.Observe the changes of their blood pressure before and after taking the drug.Results: The systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP) decreased significantly after 2 weeks in 40 case(P0.01 vs before),the diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly in particular.Conclusion:Beta-blockers show good efficacy on reducing blood pressure,applying to high diastolic blood pressure(DBP) of the adult patients in particular.
