Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical significance of detection of serum tumor specific growth factor(TSGF) in diagnosing malignant lung cancer. Methods: The TSGF concentration was determined in 92 patients with lung cancer,63 patients with pulmonary infection,41 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and 256 healthy adults. Results: ①The TSGF level in lung cancer group was higher than that in healthy adult group(P0.01),The sensibility rate of diagnosing lung cancer was 78.3%,the specificity to healthy adult was 98%;②The difference of serum TSGF level between pulmonary infection group and healthy adult group was statistically significant(P0.01),the false positive rate was 65.1%,and the difference of serum TSGF level between pulmonary infection group and lung cancer group was not statistically significant(P0.05);③The difference of serum TSGF level between pulmonary tuberculosis group and healthy adult group was not statistically significant(P0.05).④The serum TSGF level in pulmonary infection group with anti-infection treatment was decreased to normal level, and there was no statistical difference compared to the healthy adult group(P0.05).Conclusion: The serum TSGF is increased obviously in lung cancer patients, and it may be a good biomarker for diagnosing of the lung cancer after exclusing the pulmonary infection.
