Abstract

Objective To master the physical health status among college students and its developing rules and to provide scientific basis for policy making. Methods A total of 6 782 students were chosen from four universities in Guangdong, and their height, weight chest circumference, vital capacity and pressure were tested. Results The average means of height, weight, and chest circumference of town students were significantly higher than those of rural students(P0.01);The average means of height, weight, and chest circumference of male students were significantly higher than those of female students(P0.01).Only female students' diastolic blood pressure had significant differences in rual students and urban students. There were significant differences in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and vital capacity between male and female students(P0.01).Conclusion College students' morphology and function developments still have significant differences between city and country students.
