Abstract
Objective To study the students' physique condition and its change so as to provide some references for improving the students' physical health in Western Gansu. Methods By using the physique health monitoring data of the students in Hexi University in 2007 and 2012, the variation tendency of students' body shape, body function and physical quality were analyzed and compared. Results From 2007 to 2012, the male and female college students grew by an average of 2.43 cm and 1.41 cm in height, and 3.43 kg and 1.79 kg in weight, and their BMI indicators increased by 0.61 and 0.68 respectively. The male and female college students' vital capacity fell by 559.3 ml and 404.3 ml respectively. The scores of anteversion on seat, standing long jump and step test of the male college students decreased by 1.10 cm, 3.09 cm and 1.64, and those of the female college students decreased by 0.84 cm, 1.50 cm and 0.64, respectively. Conclusion The body shape of male and female college students in Western Gansu has improved, but the body function and physical quality are on the decline.
