Abstract

Obejective To investigate the diagnostic value of detection of urinary type Ⅳ collagen (urinary Ⅳ-C) in diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods Urinary Ⅳ-C and urinary (micro-protein) (mALB) were detected by ELISA method in 58 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) and in 20 normal persons. Results Urinary Ⅳ-C in patients with DM in group I was higher than that in normal persons (P0.05),urinary mALB in patients with DM in group I was not significantly higher than that in normal persons (P0.05); urinary Ⅳ-C and urinary mALB in patients with DM in group 2 were higher than that in group 1 ,urinary Ⅳ-C and urinary mALB in patients with DM in group 3 were higher than those of group 2 (P0.01).Conclusions Urinary Ⅳ-C may be a more sensitive marker in diagnosis of early diabetic nephropathy than urinary micro-protein. Detection of Urinary Ⅳ-C andurinary mALB can predict the generation and development of diabetic nephropathy.
