Abstract
Objective To study the significance of urinary Malb/Cr ratio in diagnosis of early diabetic nephropathy. Methods The levels of urinary microablumin and creatinine were determined by Hitachi-7180 fully automatic biochemical analyzer in 124 patients with typeⅡ diabetes mellitus and 58 healthy controls. Results The logarithm of urinary Malb/Cr in diabetes group was significantly higher than that of healthy group(P0.001).The logarithm of urinary Malb/Cr was not correlated with blood level of glucose(r=0.001) in diabetic nephropathy, and it was related with amount of 24 hours urinary protein(r=0.403).Conclusion The increase in urinary Malb/Cr indicates the early renal damage in diabetes patients, and it has great significance in diagnosis of early diabetic nephropathy.
