Multicenter study of ursodeoxycholic acid(Ursofalk) in treatment of chronic hepatitis

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ursofalk (UDCA) in treatment of chronic liver diseases, especially those with intrahepatic cholestasis. Methods 75 patients with chronic liver diseases were given oral capsule of Ursofalk, 250mg thrice daily. Results Except the gingiva bleeding(P=0.0823) and nasal hemorrhage (P=0.1101),the clinical symptoms(P=0.0001) and liver functions (P0.05) of the patients improved significantly. The above items improved were more at 12 weeks than at 8 weeks. the markedly effective rate at 8 weeks was 42.6%, and the total effective rate was 69.1 %.That at 12 weeks was 49.2%,and the total effective rate was 80.3%.The therapeutic effectiveness at 12 weeks was superior to that at 8 weeks, whereas the untoward effect was only 10.62%. Conclusion Ursofalk is safe and effective in treatment of chronic liver diseases, in particular,those with intrahepatic cholestasis.
