Abstract
The synthesis of n amyl chloroacetate by reaction of chloroacetic acid with n amyl alcohol using TiSiW 12 O 40 /TiO 2 as catalyst has been studied. The factors influencing the synthesis were discussed and the best conditions were found out.The optimum conditions are:molar ratio of n amyl alcohol to chloroacetic acid is 1.3∶1,the quantity of catalyst is equal to 1.5% feed stock, the reaction temperature is 108 ℃~126 ℃,and the reaction time is 1.0 h. TiSiW 12 O 40 /TiO 2 is an excellent catalyst for synthetizing n amyl chloroacetate and its yield can reach over 78.04%.
