Clinical experience of 132 cases of groin hernia with mesh and plug hernia repair

[Objective] To summarize the recent therapeutic effects and operating method of the mesh and plug tension-free hernia repair. [Methods] 132 cases in 139 groin hernia patients were performed with the mesh and plug tension-free hernia repair were analysed retrospectively. [Results] All of the patients were performed smoothly and there was no death. The average operation time was 44.7 min. No one accepted drugs for postoperative pain, only 3 scrotal edema, 4 urine retention, and no wound infection and hematoma. One hundred twenty-three patients were followed up from 2~58 months. No recurrence was observed, only 8 cases had regional chronic pain. [Conclusions] The mesh and plug tension-free hernia repair is easy to be administered, with minor lesion, quickly recovery, lower recurrence, more wider to be used and so on. Permanent effects need to be furthely proved with follow-up.
