A Clinical Esperience of Treating Groin Hernias with the Mesh and Plug Hernia Repair

Objective:To approach the characteristics of the mesh and plug tension-freehernia repair in groin hernia.Methods:The mesh and plug tension-free hernia repair was administered in 86 patients of groin hernia with the Band Mesh and Perfix plug offered by Band Company in U.S.A.The operation time,postoperative pain,patient's mobility recovery,complications and recurrence rate were followed up.Results:The average operation time was 29 minutes.Postoperative pain was not distinctive and there was no tension in the inguinal region.The patients could move 6~8 hours after operation and recover to ordinary daily activities in two weeks.Two had wound subcutaneous hematom,one had cases of scrotal hydroleles and another had retention of urine.No wound infection and no recurrence in 86 patients who were followed-up for 2~48 months.Conclusions: The mesh and plug tension-free hernia repair is easy to be administered,with minor lesion,quickly recovery,lower recurrence and more widely to be used.It is a most advanced and effective method in treating groin hernia.
