Observation of Xueqi Tongshen decoction on the expression of p38 MAPK RNA and renal function in rat with diabetic nephropathy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Xueqi Tongshen decoction on the expression of p38 MAPK RNA and renal function in rat with diabetic nephropathy. Methods 46 rats were randomly divided into four groups,normal group (n=10),model group (n=12),Benazepril group (n=12) and Xueqi Tongshen decoction group (n=12). Diabetic model rats induced by STZ were applied on model group,Benazepril group and Xueqi Tongshen decoction group. Rats in different groups were treated by homologous medicines.The expression of p38 MAPK RNA and renal function in rat were measured.Results Scr and BUN in Benazepril group and Xueqi Tongshen decoction group were decreased in comparison with those in model group (P0.01). There was no difference between normal group and Xueqi Tongshen decoction group on the levels of Scr and BUN (P0.05). The expression of p38 MAPK RNA in Benazepril group and Xueqi Tongshen decoction group was decreased in comparison with those in model group (P0.01),increased in comparison with that in normal group (P0.01).Conclusion Xueqi Tongshen decoction can inhibit the expression of P38 MAPK RNA in rat with diabetic nephropathy,protect kidney and delay the development of diabetic nephropathy.
