Abstract

Objective:To reduce the injury to hair follicle and improve hair survival rate in hair auto-grafting.Methods:Hair-bearing grafts were cut and divided into thin grafts with 2mm in width including 2to 3rows of hair follicles, and 10to 30mm in length under microscope.Thin grafts were transplanted to bald area. Results:Survival rate of hair follicle was higher than that of patching technique.Hair growing was normal without re-baldness in 54cases with following-up for 1 to 8years.Conclusion:Micro-technique can avoid hair follicle injury. It improves significantly survival rate of hair follicle in hair auto-grafting.
